This week Apple made the latest version of its mobile OS available to the public. The new iOS 9 has new features for iPads, and provides better battery life for iPhones according to Apple.

The new multitasking features in iOS 9 look to make the iPad more productive, and the low power mode can eke more time out of a dying iPhone battery.

Apple has indicated that opening weekend preorders for the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus were on pace with last year’s numbers.

That would put 10 million orders for the new iPhones in Apple’s pocket.

The US Court of Appeals has sided with Apple and ordered an injunction to stop Samsung from selling some older phones. The suit was filed in 2012 and the injunction will only apply to phones released before that date.

Samsung has since changed the way it does things to avoid future claims.

iOS 9 adoption rate hits 12.5 percent in 24 hours

A day after the release of iOS 9 12.5 percent of users had adopted the new OS. This rate is similar to that of iOS 8 last year.
