Shailene Woodley has been tapped to accept a MTV Trailblazer Award, that “recognizes actors who are blazing a particular and innovative trail for their Hollywood peers,” during a MTV Movie Awards in April, The Hollywood Reporter has schooled exclusively.
‘Insurgent’: Film Review
The 23-year-old will be presented with a respect by Miles Teller, conflicting whom she formerly starred in The Spectacular Now (2013) and Divergent (2014), and with whom she is now appearing in a sci-fi thriller Insurgent.
The award’s prior recipients are Emma Watson, Emma Stone and Channing Tatum.
“Shailene Woodley is one of a many gifted actresses of this generation,” pronounced Stephen Friedman, boss of MTV. “Whether baring her essence in emotionally charged roles in The Descendants and The Fault in Our Stars or igniting a imagination in sci-fi blockbusters like Insurgent, Shailene has lifted a bar for actresses navigating different and severe roles professionally, while privately remaining practical and permitted to her fans.”
The MTV Awards, that will take place during a Nokia Theatre and be hosted by Amy Schumer, will be promote on MTV during 8pm EST and 8pm PST on Sunday, Apr 12.
