Retired pound-for-pound champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. pronounced he gave it a shot, though there will be no quarrel opposite UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor.
“I attempted to make a quarrel occur between me and Conor McGregor,” Mayweather recently told FightHype.com. “We wasn’t means to make a quarrel happen, so we contingency pierce on.”
Added Mayweather: “I feel respected to be a biggest name in MMA and in boxing, and we don’t even contest no more.”
Last month, McGregor pronounced he had seductiveness in fighting a former five-division universe champion, who late from fighting in Sep 2015, as prolonged as Mayweather could come adult with a suitable supports for a crossover fight.
“Right now, we have Floyd using around a Showtime [Network] offices entertainment my money. That’s what he’s doing,” McGregor pronounced on Aug. 15. “He’s using around a Showtime offices, vagrant those executives to come adult with a $100 million income he needs to quarrel me. As shortly as he gets my money, we can fight.”
McGregor, 28, is underneath agreement with a UFC, and any intensity quarrel opposite Mayweather would have had to engage a co-promotion or a UFC’s blessing.
