Essential Politics: Millions lifted for list magnitude campaigns

Tapping some high-profile donors, supporters of a California gun control beginning on a Nov list have a outrageous conduct start over opponents in debate fundraising, according to financial reports filed Monday with a state.

Lt. Gov. Gavin Newsom’s Safety for All Committee reported it has lifted $3.8 million so far, compared with $467,000 lifted by dual committees hostile Propostion 63.

Proposition 63 would anathema possession of high-capacity ammunition magazines, need credentials checks for Californians shopping bullets, emanate a routine for removing felons to relinquish firearms and charge stating of mislaid or stolen guns.

One antithesis committee, a Coalition for Civil Liberties, was shaped by a California Rifle and Pistol Assn. and has lifted $229,000, including $45,000 from a National Rifle Assn. A second antithesis group was shaped by a Firearms Policy Coalition Second Amendment Defense Committee and has lifted $238,000, receiving dozens of contributions, many of that are $25 or $100 each, from unchanging Californians including teachers, engineers, attorneys, physicians and clerks.

Newsom’s debate cabinet has perceived $1.1 million from a California Democratic Party, $732,000 from Newsom’s major administrator debate committee, and $400,000 from former Facebook President Sean Parker.
