An surprising ‘black moon’ is entrance Friday, though it’s not a finish of a world

This Friday, something unusual will occur in a sky over Los Angeles. Unfortunately, we won’t be means to see it.

Sept. 30 outlines a presentation of a “black moon” — when a second new moon rises in one month. Like all new moons, we can't see it with a exposed eye, since a side of a moon that’s illuminated by a object is confronting divided from Earth.

A black moon is not in any way different from a unchanging new moon, solely for a fact that it occurs in a same month of a calendar as a prior one. The final new moon rose on Sept. 1. The black moon will arise about 5 p.m. this Friday, a final day of a month.

Many news outlets have reported this as a “rare occurrence.” A handful have suggested it’s a messenger of a apocalypse. Ian O’Neill, an astrophysicist and a comparison writer for space during Discovery News and Seeker.com, says conjunction of those things are true.
